Queensland park : Suspicious 'device' found in Queensland park

Police are investigating the discovery of a suspicious device at a park in Camira in South East Queensland.

Specialist officers are in attendance to inspect the device which was uncovered on Moss Road at Bennett Park earlier on Friday.

Police have cordoned off an area west of Brisbane following the discovery of a suspicious device.

A worker found a cylindrical device at Bennett Park at Camira on Friday morning and police declared an emergency situation at 10.40am.

Specialist officers have been sent to the park to inspect the device.

There is a 600 metre cordon around the park and police have asked members of the public to avoid the area.
