Mary J. Blige is getting divorced.

The singer filed to divorce husband Martin "Kendu" Isaacs on Thursday, E! News confirms. According to court documents, Blige cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for divorce. (TMZ was first to report news of the split.)

Blige and Isaacs, who was her manager, married in 2003. She opened up about the relationship in a 2014 interview with the U.K.'s Telegraph, saying, ""He always has my back–he's going to fight to the death for Mary J Blige. The downside is that there's no separation–it's on all the time. When you don't feel like answering to your manager, he's still your husband."

The Grammy winner also explained how she and Isaacs had different groups of friends. "All females for me, all guys for him," she told the Telegraph. "There's none of that, 'Oh, that's my female friend. Oh, that's my guy friend.' No. Not in a marriage, I've never seen that work."

Blige talked about the realities of marriage more in a 2012 interview with The Wendy Williams Show. "My marriage is not on the rocks, but I would be a liar and my fans would hate me if I said to them, 'Oh, we're perfect and everything is great.' We have situations just like everyone else. I mean, we're not out in public trying to kill each other, but you know, it's real. But we love each other, that's it."
